Each year approximately 30 percent of the work-related injuries/illnesses are associated with ergonomic deficiencies, making them one of the most prevalent and costly injuries in many industries.
Stephen Hanna, Ergonomics Consultant, will provide ideas for improving ergonomics and reducing the potential for work-related musculoskeletal disorders and also review the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Safety Grant Programs. Safety Intervention Grants may be available to assist with implementing ergonomic improvements.

Orrville Area Safety Council monthly lunch and learn meetings will be held the second Wednesday of each month at The University of Akron Wayne College, 1901 Smucker Road, Orrville. The agenda will be 11:30am lunch buffet followed by noon meeting and educational session.
The meeting will conclude at 1pm.The Orrville Area Safety Council is sponsored by the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Division of Safety & Hygiene and Massillon WestStark Chamber of Commerce, to provide Ohio employers with access to occupational safety and health, workers' compensation and risk management education, networking, and resource sharing. He has 29 years of experience with Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation. His specialty areas are BWC Safety Grants and Manufacturing Ergonomics.
Eric White is a Construction Safety Consultant for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Division of Safety & Hygiene. Mr. White has been with the Division for 20 years and in the safety field for 22 years. Prior to coming to work for the Division of Safety & Hygiene Mr. White held positions with the Mechanical Contractors’ Association, Honda of America, OHM Corporation and worked many years as a carpenter. He holds a BS in Environmental Hazardous Materials Management from the University of Findlay.
