No matter what kind of business or organization you are a part of, it is the people who support and maintain it that are its most valuable resource. By understanding the predictability of communication and human behavior, one can unlock the true potential and capability of the people within an organization.

The DISC model is one of the most useful tools available to companies and organizations today. DISC is a behavioral assessment tool which centers on four different personality traits. The model provides a common language that helps teams deepen their understanding of self and others. This is a non-judgmental tool that does not measure experience, education, training, motivators or intelligence. The DISC model merely analyzes behavioral style; that is, a person's manner of doing things.

The February 10 meeting of the Orrville Area Safety Council will feature a presentation by Ursula Lehman, Human Resources Manager, Gerber Poultry and a Certified DISC Facilitator. Ursula will share insights from her personal experience to demonstrate how the DISC model can be used to improve communication with your employees.
