Living loss is a hazard that many workers may not recognize as a problem, but can have a significant impact on safety and performance. A living loss is a mental health condition defined as the disappearance of something cherished, such as a person, possession or property.
In this educational safety webinar, Dr. David Hargrave will cover the following:
- Common Grief Symptoms
- The impact of grief on human functioning
- What are living losses
- Positive Coping Tools
In addition to the educational webinar, the Orrville Area Safety Council monthly meeting will include:

Bereavement Counseling Professional at Ohio's Hospice LifeCare
https://www.ohioshospicelifecare.org/services/bereavement-services/David Hargrave has been married to his wife Krista for 24 years and they have 4 children, one son and three daughters. David was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 2002, his father was an Air Force veteran, and his son is currently serving in the Air Force Reserve. David has worked in a variety of roles, with at-risk youth and their families over the last 22 years in New Orleans Louisiana, and Ohio. David is a Licensed Social Worker, certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Grief Counselor. Through LifeCare Hospice’ “Pathways of Hope”. David works with individuals and organizations to provide support and resources for those working through grief.

Eric White is a Construction Safety Consultant for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Division of Safety & Hygiene. Mr. White has been with the Division for 20 years and in the safety field for 22 years. Prior to coming to work for the Division of Safety & Hygiene Mr. White held positions with the Mechanical Contractors’ Association, Honda of America, OHM Corporation and worked many years as a carpenter. He holds a BS in Environmental Hazardous Materials Management from the University of Findlay.
