Environmental Geoscience Instructor and Co -owner of Lavender Trails at Orrville City Schools
Jim has been a High School Instructor at Orrville High School for 29 year. He is a college adjunct for four Ohio colleges/universities. He has organized and advised over 1000 students for the Earth science Club and other outdoor/ environmental field experiences. Jim has received ~$100,000 in student written and led grants for various enviro - science projects/programs. He was named the 2021 Orrville Citizen of the Year. He is co-owner of Lavender Trails in Orrville.
Executive Director of Wayne County Community Foundation
Prior to joining the Foundation, Melanie served as an Executive Coach and Corporate Training Account Executive for The Ohio State University’s Business Training and Educational Services Department. In this role, she consulted with companies to find solutions to challenges – from strategic planning to employee development and retention. Prior to that, she spent 15 years in corporate roles including international business, mergers and acquisitions, new product development, sales, and manufacturing management.
She has served on the boards of Wayne Center for the Arts and the Schantz Organ Company. In addition, she has volunteered with The College of Wooster Friends of International Students, Junior Achievement, Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the YMCA of Wayne County.
Melanie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Miami University and an MBA from Ashland University.
A native of Orrville, Garcia has called Wooster home for the past 25 years, with her husband, Stefan, and two college-aged children, Mason and Sophie.
Retired at Bekaert
Tom recently retired from Bekaert after 32 years where he was a Regional Sales Manager and Business Development Manager working from the Orrville plant. His current volunteer activities include the Heartland Education Community (member since its inception, also co-founder of the OrrViews bi-weekly newspaper). O'Huddle Mentor, and active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Director of Special Projects at Jarrett
Diane Jarrett is the Director of Special Projects at Jarrett. As the Director of Special Projects, Diane is involved in property acquisitions, facility design and furnishings, strategic planning, marketing, customer service, and employee training and support. She is also involved in various roles at Jarrett, Fortis Group restaurants, Zephyrs Fitness, and CrossFit Orrville as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Prior to starting Jarrett Companies with husband, Mike Jarrett, she worked in the nursing field for 10 years. Diane has a Bachelor’s in Nursing from Kent State University.
Outside of work, Diane volunteers in the community as a member of the Aultman Orrville Hospital Board, and she also serves on the Austin Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation, a regional private grant making foundation. In addition, she is a Board member of the Apostolic Christian Village and is a Pre-K Sunday School teacher. Diane says her passions are faith, family, pets and perfecting a handstand.
Senior Operations Officer at The Commercial & Savings Bank
Ashley Vaughn joined The Commercial & Savings Bank in 2014 and currently serves as the Senior Operations Officer. She leads various operational teams including marketing, cash management, electronic services, and payments. Vaughn is active in the greater Holmes County community, currently serving as a board member of the Holmes County Park District and in volunteer roles supporting Holmes County Friends and Neighbors of OneEighty and Love INC of Greater Holmes County. She is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Holmes County and holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and economics from Mount Union College.
